ASSIST, or Alcohol, Smoking, and Substance Involvement Screening Test was created as a part of the World Health Organization’s efforts to detect and manage alcohol and substance use, smoking, and other related problems in the primary and general medical care settings. The development of the healthcare application was assisted and supported by an international team of substance abuse researchers.
